Decodables: Closed Syllable

The decodable stories on this page are all written by Shawna Audet.  The pictures that accompany the stories come from pixabay.com, so they are all in the public domain.  You have permission to download the stories to use in your teaching.

Each story has one or more pictures that students can view after reading a story.   When students are first learning to read, we want them working on getting solid decoding skills.  Pictures can cause students to start guessing at words, which is counterproductive.  For this reason, we have students decode the text first and then we reveal the pictures.
